Elder Law
As our society ages, more and more Americans are living in their "golden years."
The lives of the elders are increasingly affected by government programs, legal
and financial issues. Decreasing income and dependence on Social Security and retirement
require planning for the older client. Maintaining the family residence, ensuring
continuing health care and estate planning present legal questions for the elderly
and their family. Some of the serious questions to consider involve establishing
disability under Social Security, obtaining and maintaining Medicare or Medicaid
benefits, executing powers of attorney or living wills and considering tax consequences.
